Does it matter who performs my gynaecological ultrasound ?

Of course it does. Gynaecological ultrasound in this day and age became part of the clinical examination and not a distant investigation to be done by proxy. The trained Consultant Gynaecologist would use the probe to extend his or her clinical judgement in making a clinical diagnosis rather than just stating what is there. In other words he or she would use the scanner in most cases to confirm or refute a provisional diagnosis.This is especially so in the field of pelvic pain.
